Creating 3D images from 2D flat images
3D images can be created from flat 2D images by one of several methods.
1) Take 2 photographs - 1 for the left eye and 1
for the right eye and then combine the red channel of one image with the cyan and green channels of the other image.
2) Take 1 photograph - Create a grey scale depth map image which aids software to shift the red channel of the
photograph precisely to create 3D effect.
3) Take 1 photograph - Shift the red channel left or right a bit to create an illusion of depth over the whole
image.
4) Take 1 photograph and distort / shift elements in the red channel by varying amounts depending on a generalized
understanding of the image.
